Paired Midwives

Jodie and Emma are the two midwives who make Paired Midwifery.  They are both involved in the care of every pregnant person in their caseload.  Get to know a little more about them below.

Jodie Barnett

Jodie is a registered midwife and māmā who believes that every pregnancy journey is unique. She is passionate about getting to know each whānau she works with, providing individualised care and sharing evidence-based information to support informed, confident decision-making throughout the pregnancy and birth experience.

Jodie supports all birth settings and works collaboratively with the obstetric and maternity teams at the hospital to ensure each client receives safe, appropriate, and respectful care across their maternity journey.

She is dedicated to creating a care environment where people feel supported, empowered, and safe, and is always happy to connect with those exploring their midwifery options.

Emma Le Lievre

Emma is a registered midwife and Mum of two. She is committed to providing professional, continuity-based care that adapts to the individual needs of each person and pregnancy.

Emma's background in both hospital and community midwifery helps her bring a calm, evidence-informed approach to her practice, supporting clients with clarity, compassion, and respect.  Emma is particularly passionate about providing midwifery care alongside more complex pregnancies and birth.

Emma values clear communication, informed decision-making, and building trusted relationships with the people and families she works with.
